GOLDEN GLOBE 2014, LA GRANDE BELLEZZA DELLE NOMINATION

Sono uscite le nomination per gli attesissimi, quasi più degli Oscar e forse quasi più dei Cannibal Awards, Golden Globes 2014, i premi della stampa estera di casa a Hollywood. Riconoscimenti che vanno ai film, ma pure alle serie tv, quindi doppio interesse e doppia goduria. Goduria almeno parziale, visto che alcune scelte le condivido, altre molto meno. Ma è giusto così.

La grande notizia per l’Italia è che La grande bellezza è in corsa per il premio al miglior film straniero e direi che qualche buona possibilità di vittoria ce l’ha. A quelli che sono pronti a parlare di rinascita del cinema italiano dico però subito che è meglio frenare gli entusiasmi, visto che la pellicola di Paolo Sorrentino è un caso più unico che raro.

Di sorpresone clamorose in queste nomination annunciate dalle attrici Olivia Wilde e Zoe Saldana e dal comico Aziz Ansari non ce ne sono state troppe. Da segnalare che la corsa per il miglior film comedy (American Hustle, Her, Inside Llewyn Davies, Nebraska e The Wolf of Wall Street) quest’anno sembra più interessante di quella dei film drama piuttosto istituzionali (12 Years a Slave, Captain Phillips, Gravity, Philomena e Rush). Da segnalare inoltre che a dominare numericamente le nomine ci sono 12 anni schiavo e American Hustle con 7 candidature ciascuno e degna di nota pure la sfida tra le popular bands U2 e Coldplay nella categoria di miglior canzone. I pacifisti Bono e Chris Martin verranno finalmente alle mani?

Tra le nomine che personalmente più mi fanno piacere per quanto riguarda il cinema ci sono quelle a Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Jared Leto, Greta Gerwig (yes!), Joaquin Phoenix e Leonardo DiCaprio per The Wolf of Wall Street che però probabilmente come al solito poi sarà ignorato dagli Oscar.

Per quanto riguarda le serie tv, invece, sono felice per la giusta considerazione riposta in Masters of Sex, e sono più che contento anche per le candidature di Brooklyn Nine-Nine tra le migliori comedy, quelle ai mitici Michael J. Fox e Andy Samberg tra i migliori attori di serie comedy, quelle a Kerry Washington di Scandal e a Monica Potter della sottovalutata Parenthood tra le migliori attrici di una serie drama, e quelle a Rob Lowe e a Jon Voight tra gli attori, sempre di serie drama. Anche se, lo sappiamo tutti, a fare incetta di premi sarà (meritatamente) Breaking Bad che quest’anno se la vedrà con Downton Abbey, House of Cards, The Good Wife e Masters of Sex, ma non con Homeland, Mad Men o Game of Thrones, tutti snobbati alla grande insieme a novità come The Americans od Orange Is the New Black che s’è beccato una sola nomination.

Come in tutti i premi che si rispettino, ovviamente ci sono delle cose che mi lasciano parecchio perplesso. Ad esempio la ridicola The White Queen tra le migliori mini-serie dell’anno? Cos’è, uno scherzo?

Qua e là ci sono poi le solite nomination banali e telefonate, come la milionesima a Tom Hanks (ma basta!) e la miliardesima a Merdyl Streep (ma bastaaa!!!), per non parlare di Sandra Bullock che ulula in Gravity e sarà pure credibile come cagna, ma come attrice un po’ meno. E con questa frecciatina è meglio chiudere per non diventare troppo volgari.

I Golden Globe Awards verranno consegnati il 12 gennaio 2014, in una serata che verrà presentata dalle comiche Tina Fey e Amy Poehler, e prima di allora ci sarà ancora tempo per commentare le candidature e fare pronostici. Solo qui su Pensieri Cannibali. Solo qui, e su altre mille siti nel mondo.
